The first sculpture of my new series ‘Beyond Infinity’ is complete. ‘Static Flow’ exhibited this past weekend at the grand opening of the Benzaiten Art Center. The past few months have been spent working on the design and fabrication of the steel components and I recently finished the glass components. I have about a dozen more for this series that are in progress so stay tuned.
Future home of the largest glassblowing studio in south Florida. Originally a train depot, this historic building in Lake Worth will soon be housing a glassblowing studio, gallery and foundry. The trains still run right next to the building and having all those bay doors to open for air circulation is a definite plus when things heat up. Cant wait!
David Patchen is a glass artist in San Francisco that has been a big source of inspiration for me when it comes to murrine work. Here is a video of him making a cane cup. Zac Gorell videos are in the works….
One thing still on my to do list here is in Taiwan is go diving and one of the best places to do that is on Green Island, located off the east coast of southern Taiwan near Taitong. Booked some dives and a bed through Green Island Adventures. Little did I know though that a typhoon was on its way to Taiwan and was going to cut the number of days I could dive down to just one. Nevertheless, I was able to get 2 dives in the first day and got to see some great coral and some marine life too.
Got to tour the island by motorbike before the typhoon came in. There is only one road to follow so its not hard to get lost and all the views are stunning. Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves.
